I walked to the shop today to buy my Euro Tickets and the shop owner told me that they expect to be selling well over 5 million tickets each and every hour for todays draw!
When I heard the stats the naught words, "Holy crap!" involuntarily shot out my mouth which caused a rather scrumptious little blond to blush a rosy pink). Anyhow - after appologising to seek and scrummy young lady I thought I would try and do the maths. So I opened both hands and quicky realised that I would be there all day if I had to work out what 5 million per hour for the next 9 hours would mean in pennies pounds and pence!
So back behind the PC I have the luxury of my calculator (a big grey thing thats older than the enterprise).
Right 5 million X 10 = 50 Million X 1 pound 50 = 75 million in turnover today. Of this 50% goes to the operator = 37.5 Million of which 28% goes to charity = 10.5 million.
So - even if it is almost impossible to win - at least its a fun way to have a dream AND contribute to good causes!
